Our Team
 | Cindi: A local stylist for 30 years. Married to an awesome guy:) I became a salon owner 17 years ago and loving every moment of it! When we partnered with Paul Mitchell and became a Focus Salon in 2009 it gave me balance. I used to think balance was multitasking, but now my balance is to live in all of my roles and live in the moment. I have a high regard for our team. We continue our education in the salon and attend classes and shows on a regular basis. Our team is what inspires me. I want the best for everyone: to grow and live to their potential. We are a trend setting salon dedicated to providing the best experience to our guests. My hobbies are riding my bike, reading, cooking and gardening. Believe in yourself and you will be successful.  | Amanda: My name is Amanda Thomas. I was born and raised right here in sunny Santa Barbara. I have an amazing baby girl with the best hair in town! She inspires me everyday. I graduated from Santa Barbara Cosmetology Academy and have been doing hair ever since. I love working at a Paul Mitchell Focus Salon. The advanced training we receive helps me to perfect my skills and knowledge so I can give my clients the best that I have to offer. I love interacting with people and meeting new people everyday. Nothing feels better than when a client leaves my chair with a smile on their face. |
 | Lety: I was born in Mexico and have been living in the Santa Barbara area for more than 20 years. I am bilingual, speaking both English and Spanish. I have been working at The Cutting Edge for 11 years with 12 years of experience doing hair. I like to continue my education by taking classes for color and hair cuts to share with my clients. I am confident in my skills with color, perms, relaxers, weaves, up-dos and hair cuts. I love making people happy and confident in how they look. |
 | Norma: I have been a hair stylist for 16 years. I like doing a little bit of everything from haircuts, color, perms and chemical smoothing. I enjoy making people feel good about their hair. |
 | Sarah: I moved to Santa Barbara from Oregon 15 years ago and have been doing hair for 11 years. I love being a hairstylist because I get to be creative, have fun, and make people look and feel good. I enjoy being part of Paul Mitchell Focus Salon which includes ongoing education. I also specialize in re-texturing including Keratin Smoothing Treatments. In my spare time I enjoy my friends, family and music or any combination of these three things.  | Joann: I have been a hair dresser for 11 years and have loved every day of it. I studied hair in Scranton, PA where I was born and raised. I started my hair journey there, then to Philadelphia, the UK, and now here in California. Its been great to travel and take my skill with me. I consider what I do as art and hair is my medium. I see the salon as my playground. Being a hair dresser has taught me a lot. I love the people that i have met and the stories that I have heard over the years. I live here in Goleta with my husband who is finishing up his PHD here at UCSB and my awesome daughter. I can't wait to get my hands on her hair when she gets older. I have been truly blessed! |
 | Adriana: Born and raised in Santa Barbara. I have three amazing children who inspire me to be the best at what I do. For the past 12 years I have loved making people feel good and beautiful. I have worked at Cutting Edge for nine years and have enjoyed every moment of it. I participate in ongoing education with Paul Mitchell through in salon classes and yearly at the Gathering event held in Las Vegas. |
 | Nicole: I have worked at the Cutting Edge five years now and I love it!! I grew up in Carpinteria and I currently live in Ventura. I graduated from Santa Barbara City College Cosmetology Academy and have been working at the Cutting Edge ever since. I love every thing about hair. I have been interested in hair for as long as I can remember. I use to teach myself new things on my doll heads when I was younger, and in High School I did all my friends hair for Proms and Homecomings. I love to create new color by using different techniques or giving someone a completely new look with a fun new cut! I also specialize in hair extensions. At the Cutting Edge we use Cinderella Hair, which in my opinion is the best hair you can get. After work I come home to a new house and my amazing two year old son Vincent. He is full of energy and definitely keeps me on my toes. I enjoying spending time with him, family, and friends. In my free time I love to watch football games, go to concerts, see new movies, shop, or even get a new tattoo. I cant wait to meet you and I hope to see you soon at The Cutting Edge!!! |
 | Bruna: My name is Bruna Souza and I was born and raised in Brazil. When I was nineteen I decided to go on an adventure and I moved to Santa Barbara to learn English. I have been here for almost nine years. I attended SBCC for a couple of years studying English and then I started the esthetician program. After I graduated I went to Santa Barbara Body Therapy Institute and got my certification as a massage therapist which I love as well. I have been here at Cutting Edge for almost 4 years doing waxing, facials, massage and make up. I am really passionate about what I do and I will continue my education to share my knowledge with my clients. |
 | Auriel: Originally from LA, Auriel came to Santa Barbara in 2005. She is currently attending Paul Mitchell The School downtown Santa Barbra to expand her skills with a Cosmetology License in the future. |
 | Fae: joined the Cutting Edge team as one of the first estheticians and massage techs in 2000 when the salon expanded its space to add the new services. She is trained in a number of massage modalities including Swedish, deep tissue, pregnancy, healing touch, aromatherapy and her favorite hot stone massage. Dual trained as an esthetician Fae also does facials using the latest Dermalogica products, waxing and brow and eyelash tinting. Fae enjoys giving people the pampering that they deserve in a relaxing atmosphere. |
 | Chris: My name is Christina Powers, but I go by Chris. I've been doing bodywork for over 20 years. My style is influenced by sports massage. A combination of deep, therapeutic pressure that is applied directly to areas of pain, with firm, fluid strokes, to relieve tension in the mind and body. All non-invasive and staying in the "hurt-good" range. I've worked with Cindi at Cutting Edge Hair and Body Salon since 2000. |
